Danish pastry, usually referred to as a Danish in North America, is a sweet pastry which has become a speciality of Denmark and is popular throughout the industrialized world, although the form it takes can differ significantly from country to country. A strudel or a stroodle is a type of pastry that originated in the Habsburg Empire[citation needed] and is most often associated with Austrian cuisine.
